Where to Eat in Sedona

There’s a strong focus on healthy eating in Sedona, and options range from casual cafés to world-class resort restaurants.

Sedona may be small in size but it still has a big choice of good eating places. The outdoor lifestyle here means that healthy foods are popular, and many menus will be organic, gluten-free, or vegetarian. You can still also indulge yourself with some of the tastiest food around, whether you want to try French, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, huge American steaks, or the best south-western dishes.

Oaxaca Restaurant

In Arizona Mexican food is hugely popular (well, Arizona used to be part of Mexico) and the Oaxaca Restaurant and Rooftop Cantina has some of the best in town. You should ask for a table on The Deck, as then you’ll also have some of the best views too. You can also try designing your own margarita – or let the bartender choose.

Picazzo’s is an Italian restaurant which began in Sedona and now has several other locations around Arizona. The ingredients are 100% organic and their gourmet pizzas include such offerings as Tarragon Chicken, Free-Range Chicken Pesto, or Chipotle and Chicken (chipotle being a spicy Mexican chili.)

L’Auberge de Sedona

L’Auberge de Sedona has been described by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the best restaurants in the South-West USA, and it has one of the most extensive wine lists in Sedona, along with a delightful creekside setting surrounded by cottonwood and sycamore trees. The menu changes seasonally with a lot of wild game in the fall or in spring dishes such as Wild Scottish Salmon or Coffee-Cured Duck Breast.

The Heartline Café

The Heartline Café has been a local favorite since it opened over twenty years ago, since when it has won several awards. It’s a casual place open from breakfast onwards, serves sandwiches and wraps at lunchtime but in the evening more expensive dishes like Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon or Local Farm-Raised Peca- Crusted Trout.

Che Ah Chi Restaurant

The Che Ah Chi Restaurant at the Enchantment Resort has some of the best red rock views, especially if you dine outside on the terrace. The menu gives hearty American favorites a south-western flavor with dishes such as Buffalo Tenderloin, Elk Loin with a Fava Bean Hash, or Colorado Lamb with a White Bean Purée.
